Exploring Colonial Williamsburg - part 2

Exploring Colonial Williamsburg - part 2   ...   Thursday 16th May 2013

We had another fine day wandering the streets of Colonial Williamsburg. The weather was even hotter than yesterday hitting 90oF in the afternoon. We all enjoyed seeing more of the traditional skills being practiced in the making of fine furniture, bricks, barrels, clothes and shoes. Once again we were impressed that these are not just demonstrations but the generation of quality products for use primarily within the  organization. Once again we ate our packed lunch sitting on the grass in the shade of a tree watching the world go by - people in costume and horses and carriages. This evening we had a quiet meal of baked chicken and salad that we bought at the supermarket and ate in the hotel breakfast room. It's great to go out for dinner but it can seem less of a treat if you do it all the time and it was nice to stay  home and eat.
