Grouper for dinner

Grouper for dinner   ...   Friday 15th March 2013

Yes, at last, we did have grouper for dinner.  As much as I’d like to detail for you the method of catching, I’m afraid I can’t.  We acquired our grouper from a fishing boat on the docks at Georgetown.  What I can say is that we had a marvelous meal. The fish was pan seared in butter.  This was served with plantains done on the barbecue in a sugar, butter and balsamic vinegar sauce.  The vegetable was a fresh tomato salad with cilantro.  For dessert, we had grilled pineapple (sauce of sugar and rum).  Another fine meal was enjoyed by all.

Today seemed like a good day to walk around Georgetown.  While there we thought it would be a good idea to fill up the water jerry cans and throw out the trash.  Because the wind is still piping up fairly well, we decided to move the boat to Kidd’s Cove to make the dinghy rides shorter.  This turned out to be a good choice.  The boat ride to Georgetown was punctuated with only a couple of splashes.  The return trip was another matter altogether.  Most people were quite wet and Gloria was thoroughly soaked. Rod and Mike took a second trip back to fill up the jerry cans, but with fewer people in the dinghy they were able to stay a little drier.

However having acquired a few provisions, extra water and some extra gasoline we are now in good shape for our proposed trip north to Rat Cay Cut or Adderley Cut tomorrow.
