Three nights after Midnight ... Tuesday March 20th
Today is Tuesday March 20th and we are still
anchored of the Iles des Saintes. As
Mike described, many other boats from the Caribbean 1500 rally are here. This had resulted in an unusual (for us)
number of social engagements. Three
nights in a row, we have been out after midnight (boater’s midnight, of
course.) Saturday, we had dinner out
with three of the boats. The group on
the fourth boat was planning to leave on Monday. Because they hadn’t been able to make the
dinner, we invited them over for dinner on Sunday. Then last night, we dropped by the ‘pot luck
dinner’ on Spindrift after Mike’s evening photo session on shore.
The result of all these late nights seems to be that we are
a bit lethargic today. We went to shore
to collect our clean laundry and use the WiFi.
We returned to Cotinga to drop off the laundry and then had lunch and a
nap. Our objective for today was to walk
to the “Pain de Sucre”, a promontory on the western side of Terre D’en
Haut. However, we seem to be a tad
sluggish.
After our lunch, I persuaded Mike to cut my hair. We sat in the cockpit and he snipped off hair
from all quarters. It looks good, the
left over coloring looks like it was intentionally applied to the ends. I’m hoping this will make swimming and
showering a lot easier. Maybe it will be
fractionally cooler as well.
