Happy New year to you all! We hope that 2018 is an excellent for all our friends and family. We had a lovely New Years eve - we took Cotinga over to Kelly's cove on Norman Island and spent the afternoon snorkeling in the caves to the west. We had planned to go ashore for a New Year's eve party, but it looked very busy - maybe 50 boats - so we decided to hang out on the boat, eat a fine meal and enjoy some cocktails. We had pork fillet in a lime, mustard and creme fraiche sauce, with rice and carrots, followed by home-made damson plum pies. Drinks consisted of our perfected "painkiller" recipe - 1 part cream of coconut, 1 part orange juice, 2 parts pineapple juice and truck load of rum, on ice with grated nutmeg. We even stayed up past - well make that past boaters midnight.
Today we are back at Nanny Cay to make use of their facilities. We have filled up with diesel and water, done our laundry and re-provisioned. We also changed the belts on the engine, did and oil change, fixed the bilge pump (pice of wood stuck in the outflow valve) and the septic tank pump (loose connection to the switch). We plan to have a swim in their fresh water pool and dinner at the local Tiki bar, then tomorrow we sail back to Charlotte Amalie tomorrow to drop Tasha off. It's hard to believe how quickly the week has gone, but it's been a great time.
