Fun and Problems
Wednesday May 9th and Thursday May 10th 2018

apologies - this is a blog from back Georgetown that we failed to post

Wednesday was a strange mix of strolling down memory lane and getting some serious chores done.  We went to shore to start our chores.  First stop was filling diesel jerry cans at the Shell station.  Then we went to the bank.  The plan to have coffee at the cafe ran into a problem when we discovered that there was no wifi.  It was off to the Peace and Plenty a  hotel restaurant with wifi.  But you can’t just charge in there and ask for the wifi password. This is how we came to have “second breakfast”.  our hobit-like natures are revealed.  After second breakfast we were nearly comatose, but provisions must be acquired. Exuma Markets was the next stop.  Once we were loaded down with shopping, Mike remembered a task he needed to do on the web. He left me with all the shopping bags just as t started t ran.   I huddled under the over-hang of a bar and waited.  Soon he was back and we took our “loot” back to the boat. In the afternoon it was time for more treks down memory lane.  We took the dinghy to Stocking Island and walked up to the Monument. Many fine views and a few mosquito bites were to be had. Back to the ‘dumb dog’ and a quick zip along the shore brought us to the Chat and Chill.  Having hit several of the high points, we went back to the boat for dinner and a rest.

A pair of dolphins appeared and swam around near our boat for quite a while. Maybe there are photos.

Thursday:  Mike got up early to hear the forecast at 6:30.  Reluctantly, I got up and made coffee. By 8:00 we were pulling up the anchor getting underway to Galliot Cut.  Initially there was no wind so we started the long motor-fest.  A few zephyrs developed so we unfurled the genoa and carried on motoring.  By three pm we were through the cut and picking our spot to anchor.   A swim and shower shorted out the over-heated party (myself).  Then Mike reminded me that it was my turn to blog.  That was when I discovered the problem with my laptop.  Neither the ‘I’ nor ‘O’ key will work.  There is some kind of virtual keyboard that will allow me to insert those letters but it’s a large PIA.

I’m thinking that my blog posts are going to get a lot more terse unless yu enjy ths type f wrtng
