Margaritas Before Lunch

Margaritas Before Lunch

Friday 5th February 2021

After a leisurely start to the day plans were made, a little boat cleaning was completed and a brief shopping trip followed. We found a shop selling fresh fish (for a hefty price) and an excellent grocery store in the center of town called Fausto’s (also expensive). At around 1pm we gathered for lunch in the cockpit of Cotinga. Tasha and McKenzie had spent the morning at the butterfly pavilion and were enthusiastic about the idea of a cocktail before lunch. So we made some Margaritas and spent a delightful few hours eating, drinking and chatting. Lunch was grilled grouper, mushroom risotto and tomato bean salad. Dessert was Linzertorte, which Gloria claimed she baked yesterday whilst Tasha and McKenzie were asleep during our sail back from Boca Grande, but in fact was bought at the local bakery this morning. Whilst I do enjoy a drink at lunchtime it rarely seems like a good idea later in the afternoon, when it becomes hard to get anything done, but today I was able to motivate myself to go out and take some photos. It was a fun session but cut a little short when my camera battery ran out of juice. At the moment I can’t even download the shots until the battery is re-charged. I really need to invest in a second battery and / or become more disciplined with re-charging.
